Elvia Montesdeoca Siguenza Obituary

Elvia Concepcion Montesdeoca Siguenza returned back to God’s kingdom on the evening of February 14, 2020, surrounded by her daughters and loved ones at Morristown Medical Center - after a courageous and noble fight against the debilitating effects of an aneurysm and several strokes. Elvia was born on November 30, 1959 in Cuenca Ecuador to Manuel Montesdeoca and Elvia Siguenza. A seamstress by trade, Elvia met and married her husband, Juan Montesdeoca Robles in 1978 – and enjoyed a blissful 42 years of marriage together. During this time, Elvia and Juan raised three wonderful children, Manuel Montesdeoca, Jhoanna Montesdeoca, and Carolina Gordon (Montesdeoca), as well as their nephew, Leonardo Montesdeoca. While Elvia lived in Cuenca, she often travelled back and forth to the States to visit her loved ones and remained heavily involved in her church and spiritual life both in America and in Ecuador. She thoroughly enjoyed playing piano and singing during Mass. Her kindness, compassion, and empathy were evident during every encounter with Elvia, and she touched every person she met in the most magical of ways. Elvia is survived by husband, Juan Montesdeoca; by son Manuel Montesdeoca and grandchildren, Anabel, Matias, and Steve; by daughter Jhoanna Montesdeoca and son-in-law Jose Luis Jimenez and grandchildren Juan Steven and Sophia; and by daughter Carolina Gordon and son-in-law Michael Gordon, and grandchildren Joseline, Jeremy, and Valentina. Friends and family are invited to say farewell to Elvia on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at a viewing between 4:30PM and 8:30PM at La Rosas-Bannworth Funeral Home located at 1055 E Jersey St, Elizabeth, NJ 07201. Elvia will then return back home to Ecuador for a viewing in Cuenca with friends and family on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Suenos de Fe, proceeded by a final burial in Cuenca on Saturday, February 29, 2020. We invite you to come to celebrate Elvia’s life alongside us, either here or in Ecuador.
