Wilfrido Montas

Wilfrido Montas, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, surrounded by his loving family.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, April 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Las Rosas Bannworth Funeral Home, 1055 East Jersey Street, Elizabeth, NJ. 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery in Linden.

Wilfrido was born on October 12, 1966, in San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic, where he was raised with strong values rooted in family and love. He was the devoted husband of Gloria Alexandra Padilla, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. He was a proud and loving father to Wilfred Anthony Montas, Alfredo Montas, and Adrian Montas, and a cherished father-in-law to Ixia Guerrido Lugo. His greatest joy was his role as grandfather to Mason, Mael, Aiden, Aliyah, and Mia, whom he adored deeply.

He was predeceased by his parents, Manuel Antonio Montas and Mercedes Rivera, as well as his brother, Ruben Dario Montas, and his sister, Amarilis Geronimo. He is survived by his loving siblings, Mercedes Montas Rivera, Angelita Garcia, Tomas Montas, and Yoselin Montas, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Wilfrido was a skilled mechanic, respected for his talent, dedication, and generous spirit. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and took great pride in his work. After settling in Elizabeth, New Jersey, he built a life centered on hard work, devotion to family, and community.

He found joy in life’s simple pleasures; playing dominoes, sharing stories, and spending time with his grandchildren and loved ones. His warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed.

Though he is no longer with us, Wilfrido’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him and in the family he loved so dearly.
