Wilfrido Montas, 59, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Family and friends are welcome to visit on Monday, April 13th from 4-8pm in Las Rosas Bannworth Funeral Home, 1055 E. Jersey Street Elizabeth, NJ 07021.

Funeral service will commence on Tuesday, April 14th, 9am in Las Rosas Bannworth Funeral Home, Elizabeth, NJ.

Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery, Linden.

Born on October 12, 1966, in San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic, Wilfrido was the beloved son of Manuel A. Montes and Mercedes Rivera. He later made his home in Elizabeth, NJ, where he built a life centered on hard work, family, and community.

Wilfrido was a gifted mechanic by trade, known for his skill, dedication, and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He took great pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way.

He was the devoted husband of Gloria Sandra Padilla, with whom he shared a life full of love and partnership. He was a loving father to Wilfred Anthony Montes (Ixia), Alfredo Montes, and Adrian Montes, and a cherished grandfather to Mason, Mael, Mia, Aiden, and Aliya, who brought him immense joy and pride.

Wilfrido was a dear brother to Thomas Montes and a beloved presence in the lives of many extended family members and friends.

He found happiness in the simple moments—playing dominoes, sharing stories, and spending quality time with his grandchildren and family. His warmth, humor, and strong family values will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Though he is no longer with us, the legacy of Wilfrido Montas will live on through the lives he touched and the family he so dearly loved.
