Paula Vargas, 79, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on March 24, 1947, in Aguada, Puerto Rico, Paula was the beloved daughter of Pasquale Badillo and Leocadia Vasquez. She carried her Puerto Rican heritage with pride and built a life rooted in faith, love, and devotion to her family.

Paula was the devoted wife of 62 years to Nicholas Vargas, Sr., with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and cherished memories. Together, they built a beautiful family that remained at the center of her world. She was a loving and dedicated mother to Edwin Vargas, Eriberto Vargas (2024), Nicholas Vargas, Jr., and a proud and cherished grandmother to three grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren who brought her immense joy.

A woman of deep faith, Paula was a devoted churchgoer who found comfort and strength in prayer. Her unwavering belief and spiritual devotion guided her throughout her life and served as a source of inspiration to all who knew her. She found peace in the simple pleasures—taking long, relaxing walks in the park, and she walked everywhere with her beloved son Nicholas, Jr., and listening to Catholic music that uplifted her spirit.

Paula will be remembered for her gentle heart, her strong faith, and her enduring love for her family. Her warmth, kindness, and devotion will be deeply missed but forever carried in the hearts of those who loved her.

Nacida el 24 de marzo de 1947 en Aguada, Puerto Rico, Paula fue la querida hija de Pasquale Badillo y Leocadia Vásquez. Llevó con orgullo sus raíces puertorriqueñas y construyó una vida basada en la fe, el amor y la dedicación a su familia.

Paula fue la esposa devota durante 62 años de Nicholas Vargas, Sr., con quien compartió toda una vida de amor, compañerismo y recuerdos entrañables. Juntos formaron una hermosa familia que siempre fue el centro de su mundo. Fue una madre amorosa y dedicada a Edwin Vargas, Eriberto Vargas (2024) y Nicholas Vargas, Jr., y una abuela orgullosa y querida de tres nietos y seis bisnietos que le brindaron una inmensa alegría.

Mujer de profunda fe, Paula asistía a la iglesia con devoción y encontraba consuelo y fortaleza en la oración. Su fe inquebrantable la guió a lo largo de su vida y fue una inspiración para todos los que la conocieron. Disfrutaba de los placeres sencillos de la vida, como dar largos y tranquilos paseos por el parque junto a su amado hijo Nicholas Jr., y escuchar música católica que llenaba su corazón de paz.

Paula será recordada por su noble corazón, su profunda fe y su amor incondicional por su familia. Su calidez, bondad y dedicación serán profundamente extrañadas, pero vivirán por siempre en los corazones de quienes la amaron.

Familiares y amigos se reunirán para honrar y celebrar la vida de Paula en una fecha que será anunciada.
