Oscar Raul Bernal Cevallos, 66, of Linden, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025. Born in Lima, Peru to Oscar Bernal Rosell and Aida Cevallos, Oscar came to the United States in pursuit of opportunity and a better life. He made his home in New Jersey, but his heart remained deeply connected to his Peruvian roots.
For many years, Oscar worked as a shrimper at the iconic Grand Central Oyster Bar in New York City. His dedication, work ethic, and quiet pride in his craft made him a respected and valued member of the team. He took great joy in his work and the camaraderie he shared with his colleagues in the bustling heart of Manhattan.
Oscar will be remembered as a kind, humble, and hardworking man. He was a beloved son, friend, and neighbor, whose gentle spirit and quiet strength touched the lives of those around him.
He is survived by family and friends both in the United States and in Peru, who will forever cherish his memory.
A private service will be held by the family.
