Merlin J. Diaz Delgado, 40, of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away on June 2, 2025. Born in Urracco Pueblo, El Progreso, Honduras, Merlin was the beloved son of Adrian Diaz and Martha Maldonado. He came to the United States seeking a better life and home in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where he was known for his vibrant spirit, creativity, and deep love for his family and community.
Merlin had a lifelong passion for skateboarding—a source of joy, freedom, and self-expression. Whether navigating city streets or local skateparks, he was often seen with his skateboard in hand, inspiring others with his determination and style.
Merlin's kindness, humility, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He will be remembered not only for his love of skating but for his loyalty to friends, devotion to his family, and unwavering sense of self.
He is survived by his devoted parents, Adrian Diaz and Martha Maldonado, and many relatives and friends who will miss him deeply.
Family and friends are welcome to visit on Saturday, June 14th from 3-8pm in Las Rosas Bannworth Funeral Home, 1055 E. Jersey Street Elizabeth, NJ.
