Marta R. Fernandez, 77, of Bayonne, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, at Arbor Glen Center. Born on September 2, 1948, in Havana, Cuba, Marta was a devoted mother, educator, and cherished member of her family and community.

Marta was the beloved daughter of the late Sandito Rosell and Ernestina Fernandez. She was a proud Cuban woman whose strength, kindness, and dedication touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Marta dedicated many years of her life to education. She was a teacher and later worked in the field of higher education with Baruch College. Her passion for learning and helping others left a meaningful impact on her students and colleagues.

Marta was preceded in death by her marriage to James Ramey. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Raymond Hoursey Jr., Janvieve D. Fogle, Jean Claude Ramey, Carlos Ramey, and Chardei Carey. Her memory will continue to live on through her family, friends, and all those whose lives she influenced.

Marta’s legacy of love, perseverance, and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
