Jose A Martinez Medina

Jose Antonio Martinez Medina, 80, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, at Autumn Lakes Nursing Home in Scotch Plains.

Born in Río Grande, Puerto Rico, Jose Antonio lived a life deeply connected to nature. He was truly one with the earth and found his greatest peace in planting, tending to the land, and spending time in the wilderness. His love for the outdoors reflected his gentle spirit, patience, and appreciation for life’s simple blessings.

Jose Antonio was the beloved father of Marison Soto (Ramon Collazo) and a devoted grandfather to Rigoberto, Gaetan, Ray, and Omar, who were the pride and joy of his life. He will be remembered as a quiet, kind, and grounding presence whose love for family and nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Family and friends are welcome to visit on Tuesday, December 9th from 5-9pm in Santa Isabel Lutheran Church, 908 E Jersey St, Elizabeth, NJ 07201.

Interment will be in El Yunque Memorial, Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
