Edinson Vinasco Restrepo, a devoted husband, hardworking shoemaker, and proud son of Colombia, passed away peacefully at his home in Elizabeth, New Jersey, on July 22, 2026, at the age of 79.

Born on November 28, 1946, in La Unión, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, Edinson carried the values of humility, perseverance, and dedication throughout his life. He was the cherished son of the late Miguel de Jesús Vinasco Borja and Emma Restrepo Zafra, whose guidance helped shape the man he became. Though he made his home in New Jersey, Colombia always remained close to his heart, and his roots and heritage were a source of lifelong pride.

Edinson passed away following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, quiet strength, and the kindness he extended to family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Las Rosas Bannworth Funeral Home in 1055 E. Jersey Street Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Following the services, Edinson will be returned to his beloved homeland of Colombia, where he will be laid to rest at Jardines del Recuerdo in Cali, Valle del Cauca.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him, and may he rest in eternal peace.
