Bonnie Nelson

Bonnie Nelson, 84, of Manchester, NJ, passed away peacefully at her son’s home in Roselle Park, NJ on July 6, 2026.

Born on November 22, 1941, in Staten Island, New York, Bonnie was the daughter of Robert Solomon and Elsie Egbert Peck. She later made New Jersey her home, where she devoted much of her life to caring for her family as a homemaker.

Bonnie will be remembered for her kind and caring nature, deep Christian faith, quiet strength, and the love she shared with those closest to her. Her home was a place of comfort, and she found fulfillment in looking after her family throughout the years.

She is survived by her two children, son Scott Nelson and daughter Jennifer Nelson, her greatest joys in life; three grandchildren (Julia, Antonio, and Christopher); her brother Robert Solomon; her dearest friend Mary Heller; and other family members and friends who will cherish her memory. Bonnie’s family believes the best values they were gifted came from her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elsie.

Family and friends are invited to honor Bonnie's life and memory through private services in September. Cremation took place at Rosehill Crematory in Linden, New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to WNET THIRTEEN (the public broadcasting station serving the NYC area) - as Bonnie watched that station daily and loved education passionately.

Bonnie's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
