Alma I. Velez

Alma Ivette Velez, 65, of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away on June 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and the legacy of a life well lived.

Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Alma carried the spirit of her homeland in her heart everywhere she went. She spoke of Puerto Rico with deep pride and affection, sharing its beauty, culture, and warmth with all who knew her. Her love for the island was matched only by her love for her family.

Alma was the cherished daughter of Romanita Rivera and Felix Velez Arroyo. She was a devoted mother to her beloved children: Yvette Torres, Christine Adon, and Henry Adon. Her family was her greatest joy, and she found strength and purpose in their happiness and achievements.

Known for her resilience, generosity, and unwavering faith, Alma was a guiding light in the lives of many. Her kindness touched the hearts of everyone who crossed her path, and her presence brought comfort, laughter, and love.

Alma’s legacy will live on through her children and all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her strength, her grace, and her enduring love. Rest in eternal peace, Alma. Your spirit will always shine bright in the hearts of those who love you.

A memorial visitation will be celebrated on Thursday, June 12th from 2-5pm in Las Rosas Bannworth Funeral Home, 1055 E. Jersey Street Elizabeth, NJ 07201.
